Blooming Junction Garden Center & Farm in Cornelius is a cherished partner of TVGC. With a bustling farm market, local U-Pick fields, and large plant selection, TVGC is lucky to have Blooming Junction as the hosting location of the annual club Strawberry Festival as of 2026. Additionally we have been lucky to host multiple educational speakers from their expert staff over the years. Blooming Junction is more than a nursery, market, and farm; they are truly dedicated to nuturing life and enriching the community through the beauty and bounty of the natural world.
New Leaf Greenhouse was originally founded in 1975 and grew over the years into over 80,000 feet of greenhouse space. After a transfer of ownership in 2022, New Leaf continues to execute against their mission of providing a diverse range of plants to enrich their community with the essence of gardening. In 2026 New Leaf Greenhouse began hosting the annual August club meeting at their facility and TVGC looks forward to future expansion with this wonderful member of our local horticulture community!
Al’s Garden & Home’s roots started when Al and Ann Bigej proudly opened Al’s Fruit Stand in 1948. Seventy-five years later, Al’s dream has evolved into a third-generation, family-owned business with four retail locations. Al's Garden & Home have long partnered with TVGC by providing gift certificates for club photo and growing competitions. Additionally they have provided bulbs and coupons for public participants of our annual pruning demonstrations. Thank you, Al's!
The Lloyd Baron Rhododendron Garden is a curated 1.5 acre woodland garden nestled into Rood Bridge Park in southeast Hillsboro. Lloyd Baron was an active member of TVGC and was instrumental in lobbying the city to adopt the rhododendron as the city flower. In 2001 the garden was created as a facility to celebrate the official adoption of the rhododendron as the city flower of Hillsboro.
The garden now contains hundreds of rhododendron plants that bloom across a long spring flowering season. They are sheltered within an evergreen glade that is planted with companion woodland flora where visitors can enjoy the plantings via a network of natural paths.
Approximately a decade ago club members organized a monthly maintenance schedule that includes pruning, weeding, and propagation among other seasonal duties.
