Join us on the third Monday of every month for our regular club meeting. During the warmer months this meeting is often used to hold our summer festival schedule - details listed below and schedule available on calendar above on this page. When a festival is not being held, we generally meet at the Hillsboro First Baptist Church through the back entrance into the event hall. We will typically host a monthly speaker either from the club or an external horticultural expert, break for refreshments, and then finish the evening with club related business. These meetings are also an opportunity for additional equipment raffles, community engagement, and brainstorming sessions for future club activities.
Prospective members are always welcome to attend any club events as part of the membership decision process! Want more information about how to get to regular club meetings and more about the membership benefits? Check out the detailed Join page of this site!
Have you ever grown more tomatoes than your household can eat? Has your family ever complained that you start "too many" seedlings each spring? You're in luck! Club members have the option to sell homegrown vegetables and plant starts at the Saturday Hillsboro Farmers' Market through the club's weekly market stall. For more information about this club perk visit the detailed page for Hillsboro Farmers' Market Stall on our website.

For the last decade TVGC club members have dedicated an hour each month to maintaining the public Lloyd Baron Rhododendron Garden. Maintenance events are typically held on the second Monday of every month and tasks can include pruning, weeding, propagation, and other tidying of the space.
If you have a penchant for rhodies and their care find out more about these maintenance days on the detailed page for Rhododendron Maintenance. Newcomes to rhododendrons are welcome to attend - this is a great time to learn more about their care from our local club experts!
Every winter TVGC hosts a public pruning demonstration for the community. Club members will discuss the proper pruning methods for multiple varieties of fruit trees and other ornamentals. In addition to pruning demonstrations TVGC will host a tool sharpening booth at this event as well to help keep your tools ready for the season. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear warm shoes!
Have a special skill for perennial plant maintenance? We'd love to have you volunteer and share your knowledge with our neighbors!
In the month of June the club will host the annual Strawberry Festival. Starting in 2026 this event was hosted by Blooming Junction Garden Center & Farm Market. TVGC will provide strawberry shortcakes and other berry based desserts for club members to enjoy.
Enjoy whipping up some desserts? We'd love to have your help organizing this event in the future!
Making a loaf of zucchini bread to share is a great way to offload some of that extra summer squash we always have lying around in the warmer months. Spend a night in the delightful Rood Bridge Park with your fellow club members to celebrate the season's produce and warm weather. The summer potluck is also a wonderful chance to appreciate the club's hard work at maintaining the neighboring Lloyd Baron Rhododendron Garden with a stroll through a peaceful woodland garden.
Want to contribute beyond that zucchini bread? We'd love to have your contributions towards planning and executing this great event!
Who can say no to more watermelon? As of 2026 TVGC is excited to have this event hosted through New Leaf Greenhouse in Cornelius, OR. Members can look forward to club provided watermelon dishes while regular club business is completed. While you're there check out the nearly 80,000 square feet of greenhouse space that New Leaf Greenhouse fills with seasonal delights!
Have a penchant for melon? Love wrangling folks in the summer? Volunteer to help organize this event with TVGC!
All champion growers will enjoy this premier event of the season! Every September TVGC hosts a harvest festival and friendly growing competition for club members. Think you have the best tomatoes on the block? Put that to the test and have the chance to win some prize gift certificates to local nurseries!
Are you immune to tomato-y bribes and think you would make for an impartial judge? Or maybe you're good at preparing summer side dishes? We'd love to have you help organize our harvest festival this year!
December is a time for the garden to rest and for gardeners to celebrate and plan for the next year. Enjoy a winter potluck with your fellow club members to exchange tips and seeds for the next year. Seasonal activities, raffles, and other prizes available for participants.
Have some spare time this December? We'd love to hear your ideas on how to make this seasonal event stand out this year!
